It's all change again for the Kent Pharmaceuticals sponsored Ascar. Crowd favourite Tony "The shark" King changed both cars and teams in the last round of the 'Days of Thunder' championship, taking over the Pontiac Grand Prix of Silverstone based 'Team HTML'. This was to become his best weekend in Days of Thunder so far!

Tony started by qualifying in 8th position only 0.5 seconds off pole position. Losing 4 positions due to a slow pit stop he then went on to overtake more cars in the first race of the day than he did in the whole of his last season. He was also the fastest car on the circuit in the last 15 laps of the race! Final position was a best ever 6th.

This meant he started the next race from 6th on the grid. After a slow start Tony picked up the pace and was, once again, one of the fastest cars on the track……….until the engine cut out at 130mph in the middle of turn four. Managing to avoid the concrete wall in front of him Tony brought the car to rest. This was the result of a melted fuse holder which set the team back 50 pence. In recognition of Tony's performance with a new car and a new team, Club Autosport Editor, Edd Straw, also nominated Tony for the www.autosport.com 'Driver of the Day' award!

Kent's BLUE Shark, Bites for Charity!

Tony 'The Shark' King's new Chevrolet 'Days of Thunder' car broke cover for the first time last weekend at Rockingham testing. A wait for tyres followed by ECU problems saw 'The Shark' limited to two 10 lap runs late on Saturday, but Tony was nevertheless pleased with his first laps in a Torquespeed car.

This season Tony has increased 'Title Sponsorship' for his campaign from Kent Pharmaceuticals of Ashford Kent, and will be racing in their Royal Blue & white livery.

He is also helping the Sittingbourne based 'Demelza House' Charity by donating space to promote the Childrens Hospice on the side of the car, and making it available for Demelza House promotional events throughout the year.
